Shawn Smith is the President of Homewatch CareGivers of Rock Hill. His journey into home care followed six years of service in the U.S. military and two decades of experience in management and sales. After years in leadership Shawn wanted to combine his experience with work that had a deeper purpose and could make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

His passion for home care grew after learning about a friend whose mother wanted to remain at home during her final months rather than move into a facility. She wanted to be surrounded by the people, memories and comforts she loved. Her story showed Shawn the important role in-home care can play in helping people maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life.

As he learned more about the needs of York County, Shawn recognized the opportunity to provide compassionate, dependable support to seniors, veterans and families who want their loved ones to remain safely at home.

Shawn brings the discipline, responsibility and commitment to service he developed in the military to his leadership at Homewatch CareGivers of Rock Hill. He is proud to lead a team dedicated to providing care families can trust and helping clients remain safe, comfortable and happy in the place they call home.

Lisa Chrismon Director of Marketing and Community Outreach

Lisa Chrismon joined the team in March 2024 overseeing our marketing efforts with a primary focus on building brand awareness locally. She also conducts new client intakes and represents the company at shows and marketing events.

Lisa brings more than 14 years of experience in the home care industry. Her experience includes volunteering with the South Carolina Alzheimer’s Association, completing the Institute for Organizational Management through the College of Charleston and earning her Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) certification.

Lisa resides in Fort Mill with her husband Steve and their dog. She enjoys spending frequent time with her two grandchildren in Tennessee. When she’s not with her grandchildren she can often be found at the beach or a local pool. Her hobbies include visiting vineyards, photography and interior design.

Kathy Chesney RN

Kathy Chesney joined the team in October 2018 as the company’s Registered Nurse. She is responsible for orienting new caregivers, providing specialized training, conducting intakes for all Medicaid and VA clients and completing private-pay intakes by request. She also assists with various administrative duties.

Kathy brings an exceptional 50 years of nursing experience to her role. A graduate of Clemson’s RN program, her career includes 17 years of in-home care, 15 years with the school district and 20 years working in the emergency room. She also spent 20 years as an instructor for the LPN program at a local college.

Kathy resides in Rock Hill with her husband. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her grandchild Miller.

Susan Ayers Recruiter / HR Coordinator

Susan Ayers joined Homewatch CareGivers of Rock Hill five months after the company opened in March 2019. She began her journey with the team as a caregiver before transitioning into the office, where she now supports the company’s human resources and administrative operations.

Susan’s responsibilities include recruiting, screening / onboarding caregivers, coordinating employee training and handling a variety of clerical / administrative duties. Her firsthand experience as a caregiver gives her a invaluable perspective when supporting both employees and clients.

Before joining the team Susan was a school teacher in Rock Hill where she worked with exceptional students. She holds a bachelor’s degree and brings her background in education, caregiving and administration to her role.

Susan resides in Rock Hill with her husband Greg and her beloved dog JuJu. Outside of work Susan enjoys traveling, spending time at the beach and making memories with her grandchildren.

Vera Wilson Scheduler

Vera Wilson joined the team as a Scheduler in December 2023. She is responsible for filling open shifts and matching clients with caregivers as well as handling general office duties including phones, filing and compliance with regulatory matters. Vera also fills in for uncovered shifts when needed and handles on-call duties during evenings and weekends.

With over 15 years of experience in the health care field, Vera brings invaluable scheduling experience and a strong team-oriented approach to her role.

Outside of work, Vera enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoys her time at the beach, one of our local lakes and attending motorcycle events.
